Rabies Tag Fees

County Fees have not increased since September of 1996. The $10.00 population control fee was added in 2008 to ensure compliance with the Illinois Animal Control Act

1 Year Rabies Tag Fee:

$10.00 - Under nine months, (altered or unaltered)
$10.00 - Nine months and older (spayed or neutered/altered)
$35.00 - Nine months and older ( not spayed or neutered/unaltered) $25.00 for the registration + $10.00 population control fund

3 Year Rabies Tag Fee:

$20.00 - Adult (spay or neutered/altered)
$60.00 - Adult (not spayed or neutered/unaltered) $50.00 for the registration + $10 population control fund


Adoption Fees

Cat Adoption:

$70.00 includes:

$30.00 voucher, good for defraying costs of spaying or neutering
Initial veterinary exam
Distemper vaccination
Rabies vaccination, (cat must be at least 3 months of age)
Fecal check and de-worming
microchip and national registration
1 year rabies tag, (must be resident in Kankakee County)

Cardboard cat carriers are available for an additional $5 donation.



Dog Adoption:

$100.00 includes:

$60.00 voucher, good for defraying costs of spaying or neutering
Initial veterinary exam
Distemper vaccination
Kennel cough vaccination
Rabies vaccination, (cat must be at least 3 months of age)
Fecal check and de-worming
microchip and national registration
1 year rabies tag, (must be resident in Kankakee County)
